Hurricane Laura - Texas and Louisiana - Update
Hurricane Laura Impacts
As a follow up to Announcement 2020-099 issued on August 26, 2020, we are lifting the pause in closings and fundings of loans in the state of Texas. Loan closings and fundings may resume for the previously announced impacted counties.
Loans in previously announced counties in the state of Louisiana remain in effect until further assessment of the storm can be made.
At present time, FEMA has not formally declared impacted counties and as a result future updates regarding requirements for property inspections may occur.
- NewRez will continue to fund loans in Texas so long as closings are able to occur, and borrowers have acceptable insurance policies in place.
- NewRez will not make exceptions to permit a loan to close without a subject property being covered by an active insurance policy that meets applicable requirements.
- Loans that have not yet gone to closing and fall into impacted areas will require the appropriate inspection as outlined in our Disaster Policy.
